Team Viper Prepares for Maiden Race

Bristol BikeFest is the southwest's largest and most popular mountain bike festival, held annually over a mid June weekend.

Many of the UK's best riders head to the dedicated trails of Ashton Court to do battle in the 12 hour endurance event and this is the one that Viper has selected for its maiden race on Saturday 5 June.

Starting at 9am and riding through to 9pm the event is a relay for the team of four, Dave Ford, Ian Harding, Jim Hardcastle and Neil Wilkins who at the age of 45 is riding in his first race!

Neil said, "BikeFest was the obvious choice for Team Viper to go for. The course suits us well and it's the largest event of its kind on our home soil with a great atmosphere and run by our friend Paul Newman who supports our CLIC24 event each year too."

Neil added, "It has surprised many people that this is my very first mountain bike race so whilst I'd qualify for the novice event on the Sunday, and despite the longest list of ailments and excuses known to man, I'm going to give it my best shot and hopefully we'll all put in some tidy laps whilst having some fun on the way."

So come along on Saturday and cheer us on. You'll see the black Team Viper tent right in the middle of the main camping area.
