Viper has started the year with an unprecedented amount of discussions about communication planning. Every meeting we’ve had has revolved around planning.
Directors, managers and project officers are being careful and cautious about how and where they spend their marketing budgets. All departments are facing cuts.
From major urban festivals to rural media charities we’ve noticed how much more consideration is being given to planning. Simple, effective and robust plans are required now. Old marketing plans that sit on a shelf are no help to anyone.
It’s peace of mind that people are after. There is so much uncertainty around at the moment that people feel the need to fix, with as much certainty as possible, elements of their working lives.
Viper’s Neil Wilkins said that ‘the consistent question I’m asked by existing clients and new contacts, is can we help with their communication planning? They know they have to be targeted and focussed. No more vanity leaflets was one message!’
In an era when communication tools have increased incredibly you have to know which ones to pick and why. Then be prepared to justify it.
Have you thought about your communication planning?
