Music on Mendip

Viper have been asked to help with a very intriguing and exciting project that combines our love of all things digital, the countryside and music.

Children from Churchill Community School will compose pieces of music inspired by the landscape of Dolebury Warren on Mendip. The pieces of music will then be linked via GPS to the specific location. Listeners will be able to walk the hill listening to the music through their smartphone: as you move around the hill the music will change to reflect the location.

Composer Duncan Speakman will help the children tie the music together. He will also create a 'linear' piece of music from the compositions in an MP3 format for wider distribution.

Viper are tasked with creating the communication plan, audience profiles and generating interest in those audiences. The project is being run by Local Journeys with funding from Find your Talent and the Mendip Hills AONB Sustainable Development Fund.
