CLIC24 News Update
Do you like riding bikes?
Do you enjoy weekends filled with sunshine and dusty trails?
Do you like good live music?
Do you eat home cooked food and drink good beer?
Do you like the very best facilities when you camp?
Do you enjoy chilling out with your buddies, family and friends?
Do you appreciate a laid back atmosphere?
Do you like riding at sunset and dawn?
Do you want all this the weekend after next?
Then you need to be quick. Deadline for entry to probably the best weekend of riding and chilling you'll have this year is just three days away. Yes by Friday evening those who are in will be up for a classic weekend and those who didn't make it in time will have to resign themselves to missing it for a whole year.
CLIC24 2010 will be special. Have you seen the weather forecast? MetOffice in their wisdom are promising 'bright and dry' and with the current 'perfect' trail conditions expected to continue through to the event weekend we are set for a cracker, just like in the old days!
Arrive on the Friday evening and pitch your tent before heading to the main marquee for hog roast (including vegie alternative), well stocked bar and live music. We are expecting a good sunset too so expect the sides of the marquee to be down and for some beer under the stars.
After a hot breakfast on the Saturday morning we will see all the main action with the ride beginning at noon and live music in the marquee for resting riders and their families and friends right the way through to the start of the night time laps after sunset. Expect all the classic CLIC24 facilities with light charging from Lumicycle, hot showers and clean toilets, great food and beer, bike servicing from Bad Ass Bikes, sports massage therapists and some special surprises on the day.
Then it's time to settle into the night session where you have a chance to dial into a starlight riding zone when you'll experience the unique Mendip darkness or if you prefer, take it easier and find your sleeping bag for some zzzz before an early start and the famous 24 hour 'dawn lap' which if you haven't tried before is a classic memory you won't want to miss.
Families, friends and supporters are welcome to camp with you for free at CLIC24 so make a weekend of it as it's all in aid of a great cause and every pound we can raise makes such a difference to children suffering with cancer and leukaemia.
So if you want to find some reasons for making this weekend your charity weekend of the year or you simply fancy a great couple of days riding and drinking beer with your buddies then welcome to CLIC24 2010.
Don't miss it. Head for www.clic24.org.uk and get that entry form in today. You can even submit your form online to me and make a BACS payment for your deposit straight into the CLIC24 bank account.
If you've already done all of the above and you are ready for this year's event then we'll be sending you your rider number and full event briefing notes over the coming weekend. Watch your email inbox for details.
Hope to see you next week.
