The Brief
Miss Skarlet with their debut album, produced by Glenn Skinner, was signed to ViperMusic at the end of 2009 in our first record deal as a fully fledged independent label.
The band's lead singer and prolific songwriter Sally-Anne Langton needed to create a 'brand' for the band that was meaningful and attractive to the target music downloaders for the debut album.
The Solution
ViperMusic, working closely with the team at ViperMarketing took Sally-Anne through a strategic planning process that has been used on a diverse mix of clients from Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to Law Firms. Just as applicable to a musician or band, the solution of brand style, personality and target audience quickly became apparent.
The resulting work by ViperCreative in designing and launching the band's website at www.missskarlet.com, logos, brand guidelines and album covers positions them right where their target audience wants to see them.
A photoshoot, help with social networking and recording of a demo live video was just the start of an ongoing two year relationship designed to encourage thousands of downloads and growth in a dedicated fan base.
The Result
The live album launch at The Fleece, Bristol on 19 December 2009 marked the start of both the Miss Skarlet journey but also of the promotional, management and support package that Viper can offer to other musicians and bands.
The launch night was streamed live on the internet at www.missskarlet.com and was so successful that we are already planning more live web stream gigs in the near future.
