Creative Content for Tamar Website
Viper Case Study
The Brief
Converting to a new website? Building a new website is quite a task. Populating it with creative content can be equally as daunting. Especially when you know you need to do a lot of editing to filter redundant and out-of-date material from the old website.
Tamar Valley AONB team commissioned Viper to populate the new site with relevant copy that was upbeat, engaging and up-to-date.
The Solution
Firstly, we identified the audience’s. Who was going to use the site and how? Then we created the website’s Job Description. When you know the purpose of the website it’s so much easier to get the right content in the right places. And importantly it helps with the decisions of what to leave out.
We carefully considered the SEO - Search Engine Optimisation elements of the copy, ensuring keywords are well placed and internal links bind the site together.
The Result
The result is a modern, fresh and vibrant website that is confident. The site’s a portal to lots of other information elsewhere. The team didn’t want every piece of information ever written to be stored on the site. They wanted to create the links, it’s called a WEBsite for a reason.
Less is more. There’s a real danger of repetition but we kept paragraphs short and punchy. Our editing was ruthless. There is technical ‘jargon’ in places but it’s within the context of a deeper level of information where you’d expect to find it.
Refreshingly the team understood that the site is a living entity. Content can and should be updated regularly to reflect them as a dynamic team and the landscape they represent.
