CLIC24 Community Website

Viper Case Study

The Brief

In 2008 we launched a great new website for CLIC24, Europe's only charity 24 hour mountain bike event.

Good images, clear instructions and clean simple layout ensured it did what it set out to do.

But the world has moved on and social networking is in 2010 the flavour of the day and set to continue into the event's tenth anniversary year in 2011.

The Solution

Step in SimpleWeb and a whole new concept in website design called Neighbourhood.

The idea is an integration of different media feeds into a single and straightforward web page.

The whole site is a single web page fed dynamically by people on Flickr, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter posting images, video and messages tagged with CLIC24 so that they are captured and appear on the site.

The Result

The community feel to the website is all part of a new generation of 'mash-up' sites that don't necessarily contain a lot of information of their own but draw on the collective social networking experience.

Key to the strategy and we hope will result in lots of registrations and money raised for children with cancer and leukaemia, is social advocacy, the sharing of links to the website easily and quickly, thereby spreading the message of CLIC24 far and wide.

Here's our interview with the guys at SimpleWeb, why we went with them and what we felt at the end.
