Top Learnings from 2010

This year I have learned the following:

Content really is king. You can't run social media campaigns on hot air

The audience is everything. Design for them and no-one else

Giving your audience a human name is the most memorable, powerful tool we use

People like to be part of something. Create a community but remember the content

Be consistent, it pays off in the end

Don't do it just because it's there - social media that is

Content management systems are soooo much better now - give them to the client

Don't hold on to things for too long

Targets are a fixed point, be flexible with your navigation to that point

I'm going to use the words 'navigate' and 'amplify' much more next year

Thanks for reading and staying in touch. Looking forward to next year

Jim
