The making of the VMCG.co.uk website

With the launch of Viper's new website, as a treat I thought I would post a video of the making of the vmcg.co.uk homepage.  For those interested in the development process of converting a mockup to a fully coded webpage, this is a rare glimpse into the methodology used.

The video follows my development process of taking a flat jpg mockup, that is used for client approval at the beginning of a project, and converting it to a pixel perfect HTML & CSS page that is fully valid and accessible. The development time for this first html page of the project took around five and a half hours, but I’ve condensed the video down to 30 mins.

This video isn't the whole story of course. After the homepage, the other pages needed to be converted, navigation built, CSS for each brand written and then it all needed to be hooked up to the content management system, ExpressionEngine.  A fairly lengthy process, but the results speak for themselves.

Hope you all enjoy.
