Characteristics of Innovative Thinkers

Get a group of hungry post graduate marketers in a room with a flip chart and some post-it notes and you are sure to come out with some interesting thinking and emerging themes.

More about the latter in a blog coming soon but for now let's share some of the characteristics and behaviours they felt essential to innovative, creative futurologists.

The list breaks down clearly into two areas: Style and Behaviour.

Style includes: charisma, inspiration, leadership, prioritisation, imagination, opportunistic, long-term, brave, optimistic, flexible, excellent

Behaviour includes: realism, critical, analysis, challenging, questionning, evaluative, detailed, listening, thorough, understanding, grounded, customer-focused

Those who are stuck in their ways, unwilling to change and focused on the here and now at the expense of tomorrow seem destined to be the also-rans of our working world.

Exhibit these behaviours with this style though and some of the best marketing minds believe you will be in a place far better as you respond to current emerging trends in the challenging world in which we all live.
