10% Could Be More Than You Think
10% might sound like an insignificant amount but in your world and in mine there are many, many 10%s.
In your home if you were to reduce the amount of time your heating is on or your how water timer is set by just 10% would you notice a difference? You might to your end of year bill.
If you reduced the amount of time spent idly watching TV by just 10% a night and put that time to something productive how much time would you create from nowhere by the end of each week?
Tiny things like reducing the amount of marmalade or butter you spread on your toast in the morning by 10%? You wouldn't notice that, but in a year you'd save a surprising amount of purchases from the supermarket.
Little things, tiny changes but potentially significant cumulative affect on the outcomes.
So translate that into working life and what could we create?
Think of reducing the time you take to make coffee, do the filing, catch up on Facebook gossip and chatting with friends and colleagues... remember just 10% reduction... you shouldn't even notice it... but the savings?
Now comes the interesting part. If you were to increase your sales by 10%, just 10% through say a targeted marketing campaign to existing customers (we aren't talking new products or services or big budget advertising here, just focusing existing products on existing customers who might not be aware of them), you could increase your actual 'profit' by as much as 100%.
It's true. Don't take my word for it, Google it and read for yourself. I would explain the maths here but I am trying to save my blogging time by 10% so I can focus more on my customers today.... by about 10%.
