Bobbetts Mackan
Viper Case Study
The Brief
The world of law is changing or more precisely the way we select our solicitor is changing. Bobbetts Mackan knew they needed to stay relevant and adapt their communications to reflect this change. Viper were asked to prepare a communication plan to guide future actions and commitments.
The Solution
Two days, 35 members of staff, one planning process. The partners listened to our recommendation that everyone needed to buy into this process for it to work. Communication comes from everyone in the organisation, if you're going to change the way you work everyone's got to buy into it. They won't if they just get another plan land on their desk. 35 members of staff meant we needed two days to take all the staff through our planning process, anymore than 15 in a group means the quality of the experience reduces. The agenda for each day was the same so that we could compare and contrast the results. We planned a feedback session for everyone to hear the collective results, again, ensuring all the staff understood what was needed.
The solution revealed something quite unexpected.
The Result
Audience types were defined and named, messages clarified, tools chosen and timeframes specified. Services were re-defined as 'products' to focus effort. But the real step-change that resulted from the two days planning was the internal communication plan. This needed to happen in parallel with any external work. The process we use is so effective because it reveals what's really needed and not what people guess is needed. According to the partners we created a 'cultural' change in Bobbetts Mackan.
