SouthWest Mountain Biking Set For Great Future

1SW the off road mountain bike project funded and supported by the likes of DEFRA, Forestry Commission, IMBA and Sport England is set to kick start some £8m of development for a range of cycling hubs across the SouthWest.

Views from the Summit

Cycling centres and dedicated all weather, graded trails will be developed in a number of exciting locations across the region including Ashton Court in Bristol and Haldon Forest near Exeter. This will open up not only accessible riding for all levels of local cyclist from novice to enthusiast but position the southwest alongside equally world class destinations close by in Wales.

The opportunities will be limited only by our imagination with the prospect of learning new skills, new events and races, mountain bike guiding and the commercial opportunities for cycle retailers.

World Class Cycling Destination

The 1SW project has been to this point a development project but now with work happening and set to continue for years to come, as we discussed with the project team yesterday, the public promotion and branding will soon be underway. One thing is for sure though... the SouthWest is set for a great mountain biking future.
