Author: Neil Wilkins

Neil learnt his marketing with the likes of Orange, NatWest, BP Castrol and Ordnance Survey and now helps individuals and businesses to communicate more effectively. He trains and mentors marketers on professional Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications through to post-graduate level.

The Direct Marketing Association have produced a useful guide to Voluntary Codes of Practice covering a whole range of good ethical business practice from digital marketing to retailing, for communicating with children to dealing with contentious subjects.

The politically correct marketer should certainly make themselves aware of the general ethos of such codes for subjects in and around their industry to ensure that their marketing and communication falls in line with acceptability from their customers' perspective which is after all, the key objective of such guidance.
