Busy Bee

There is just a few weeks remaining for a couple of my modules, which are rapidly looming over me at the moment. As some of you are aware I am studying towards my CIM Professional Diploma through Cambridge Marketing College. Thankfully, I am keeping my little panics to a minimum after a superb CIM event I attended a couple of Saturday's ago (17th April) in London.

The event was organised by the Student Support Group - a group of volunteers who all want to help students through their CIM qualifications whilst working full-time as well. The day went through the stages a student may go through to become a qualified Chartered Marketer through the CIM colleges. It was a fantastic day of gaining further knowledge on 'how to boost your grades' and more help which is available to us. One thing which was apparent, and my tutors are explaining all the time, is make sure you have a study plan set up to ensure efficient use of time between study and work, and I could not agree more! I think I would have ended up in a mound of paper and scrunched up notes around my home otherwise and I possibly could have perfected the art of procrastination by now otherwise.

It is a demanding course, if you allow it to be and do not organise time around work for yourself. All I can say, if anyone is studying and it's getting a bit too much have a look at the Student Support Group's website for some extra help and information on how to help yourself through your CIM qualification course and it is worth going to one of their events. Especially for those studying via distance learning.

I had a superb few hours at the event with plenty of opportunities to network with our peers. You get an extra confidence boost that you are definitely in the same boat as everyone else and to keep going but make sure your colleagues are aware of what you are up to as well. The modules I am currently doing are extremely relevant to my job with Viper at the moment and I hope to be able to apply my new skills and knowledge to my role and help develop our strategies.

Alongside my studying and full-time role with Viper I thankfully have a few exciting days planned to look forward to some 'study-free' time, whether it is a work event or visiting friends, I hope it will keep my sanity over the next few weeks (if possible)....I will keep you all informed!
