One World Off-Road Cycling Destination
Viper Case Study
The Brief
A partnership to promote off-road cycling was about to get serious with a large bid to the Rural Development Programme for England to fund 6 off-road cycling hub sites across the South West. They needed a brand and website to show they were serious. The logo needed to reflect a stamp of approval, a quality mark for high standards, something that would not be given easily. It also needed to walk a fine line representing off-road cycling without representing the mud, sweat and speed that put most people off! The website had to be a project resource, somewhere the latest partnership activity could be shown, where technical documents could be stored and lists of outlets collated. Simplicity was to be the key. The partnership also needed a name.
The Solution
The 1SW name was put forward and adopted. One world class off-road cycling destination, the South West. 1SW for short. The Stamp logo showed the wheel with subtle knobbly bits showing its purpose was off-road. The clean, uncluttered logo was designed to sit comfortably with any partner logo. It's simple and pure and works well on any background. No mud, sweat or tears in sight. Just an authoritative logo that reflects high standards. The website backs this up. Potential funders and partners had to be able to visit the site and understand the philosophy and detail of the project easily.
The Result
1SW was awarded £4.6million. The total project spend will now be approximately £7.5million. We like to think our branding played it's part in this partnerships ongoing success.
