Octavius Hunt is the largest smoke manufacturer in Europe. The company has ISO 9001:2008 accreditation and unrivalled technical expertise in the development and production of smoke products and in working with a range of insecticides, fungicides and acaricides.

At the top of their game, when the Managing Director moves on to new challenges, it is imperative that an experienced, top professional is found and recruited to continue the growth momentum and people development within the company.

Speed and accuracy are vital in the recruitment process and this is where social media was identified as a highly targeted method of creating awareness in the new vacancy.

The Solution

As a specialist digital marketing consultancy with extensive experience in Linkedin and other business to business social networks, Viper Marketing was commissioned at the front end of the recruitment process as a highly cost effective and focused method of creating initial awareness.

A Geographic and Industry focused, targeted adverting campaign was created with pinpoint accuracy, positioning the new vacancy in front of the right potential applicants.

Wider advertising bursts in other social networks created signposts to the advertised role and ensured that a significant number of appropriate candidates were encouraged to register their interest.

With Linkedin profiles available, Viper was able to filter the 80 applicants down into a long-list who were invited to formally apply for the role and the short-list passed over to the client for the selection and interview process to begin.
