Be Careful What You Wish For

Be Careful What You Wish For

It does depend upon who you ask, but the saying “Be careful what you wish for” may have a semblance of truth in it.

If you are to believe Rhonda Byrne and The Secret, then feeling what it’s like to already be experiencing your positive future is in itself enough to create it.

Perhaps you believe Professional Development guru Brian Tracy who stresses the importance of setting personal as well as career goals and to then become obsessed by the relentless pursuit of them.

Whatever your motivation and belief, there is certainly something behind the idea of creating in your mind a vision of a positive future outcome. The way this may work in business and marketing is that it becomes a truly motivating vision towards which all of your tactical and day to day activity is aligned. If you believe in what you are wishing for you start to align your behaviours, attitudes, systems and processes in a single, coordinated direction.

Importantly, by doing this you also draw in others to help support your vision. It just happens that way. You don’t need to know how or why, it just happens.

So the moral of the story is to be careful what you wish for because if you start believing the future is bright then history shows us that it probably will be. Think the future is dark and you know what’s likely to happen.

Today, be careful what you wish for.
